Kat Marr, a college friend of Scott’s and Sandy’s, wrote a touching blog post as she learned of Alyssa’s passing. Kat has a beautiful family, many whom are adopted and many of whom have special needs, and a faith that is so strong, we all have much to learn from her.

Family friend Troy Clifton ran the Ironman Texas in honor of Alyssa. Alyssa and her family were blessed to attend the race to cheer him on as he has so often has cheered her on in her cancer race.

Alyssa was granted a wish from Make A Wish. She could travel anywhere. Do anything. Meet anyone famous. Her choice. She decided to have a well built for a village in Africa. This was inspired by the Matthew West song “Do Something” and the book “A Long Walk To Water” by Linda Sue Park.
Make A Wish generously fulfilled this wish! Now, the village of Murehwa, Zimbabwe has fresh, clean, water flowing from a new well. Thank you, Make A Wish for making Alyssa’s wish come true!
